After our beloved prophet Muhammad PBUH passed away, his sayings were preserved in both written and memorized form. Umar ibn al-Khattab RA, the second caliph, began to collect all the hadiths together into one unified volume. He, however, chose to give up the endeavor in order to have the Muslim nation concentrate its efforts more on the Quran.
The Umayyad caliph, Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz also started an effort to collect all the hadiths. Teaching and collecting hadiths was part of a plan of his to renew the moral fiber of the Muslim community.
One important mission of Almishkaat is to spread knowledge of hadith amongst Muslim women. This is concerning for Muslim Scholars that knowledge of Principles of Hadith (Usool ul Hadith) and also memorization of Ahadith has declined over last couple of decades. This is a mission to revive ‘Ilm ul Hadith”. Join us in this mission to kindle our hearts with love for our prophet Muhammad PBUH.
